Shoe Care Tips

As with all quality footwear, your shoes will last longer if you take good care of them. Most of the shoes in our ranges will have been treated with a protective coating before they leave the factory. However, this is not permanent, so all shoes need to be looked after to ensure they remain looking as good as new. Follow our hints and advice on how to clean and care for your shoes.

Caring for Leather Shoes

Leather – No more spit and polish!

Wipe over lightly with a damp sponge and allow to dry naturally.

It is important however, that the polishes and shoe creams are free from turpentine, and turpentine substitutes or white spirit, as polishes with these compounds will damage the surface of, and change the shade of, the leathers.

Caring for Suede Shoes

Gently brush off and remove loose dirt and mud.

Freshen up shoes by wiping over the inside with a damp sponge. Be careful not to make too wet. Wipe out with paper towels and allow to dry naturally. Use shoe trees to stop creases and wrinkles forming in between wearing shoes. Alternatively, lightly stuff the shoes with white tissue paper.

Caring for Patent Shoe

Take care when wearing patent leather shoes, as they attract static friction which may cause the shoes to stick together. We apply a silicone finish in manufacture to stop this happening and recommend using a proprietary patent cleaner for after care. Wipe over shoes with a damp sponge or cloth then polish using a dry soft cloth.

Caring for Special Leather Shoes
